I really like this piece by Dan Matutina. He’s a designer/illustrator from the Philippines and he created this rather striking image based on a folk legend.

Samurai Jack Background Artwork

Some fantastic backgrounds created for the incredibly epic Samurai Jack cartoon show. The colors and style on these backgrounds is really just and you can tell that this really is part of reason the show looked so great.

Gabz is an artist living in Poland and his illustrations mix pencils with Photoshop to create some really powerful work.

Above is his recent cover for an issue of Guitar World featuring Jimi Hendrix. Be sure to check out his other illustration work as well; I especially like this proposed cover he did for Polish music duo Kucz&Kulka.

Sam McKenzie is an artist living in Brisbane, Australia.

I really like his color works but my favorite is seeing his giant sketch pages filled with detailed characters and great line work. You can find those on his site as well.

Luke Person is in his third year as an illustration student at Loughborough University but already his work is really charming and a pleasure to look at.
